Houston Oral Surgery Options

Request an Appointment

At byte Dentistry our team consists of both a general dentist and periodontal expert. We are also proud to host an in-house dentist geared specifically towards removing wisdom teeth (3rd molars). As such, we’re able to provide expanded oral surgery services that you might not find in a routine family dental practice.

Our Houston dentists incorporate the latest in technology and top level knowledge in oral maxillofacial health to ensure the most accurate (and gentle) oral surgery for our patients with IV sedation as an option for these procedures. Added amenities like a warm towel, fluffy pillow, and noise-cancelling headphones help you tune out, relax, and feel at ease during your procedure.

Dental Implant Placement

We’re proud to provide comprehensive dental implant services at our Houston practice. This includes the surgical placement in the jaw (without altering facial structure) as well as the restorative phases of your implant therapy. Some offices refer you to a periodontist or oral surgeon for the implant, but since we have a specialist on staff there’s no need to go anywhere else!

Implants are minimally-invasive restorations that mimic the function of your real teeth. Plus, they’re made to last for life. And they’re so strong that we can use as few as four implants total to support a full-arch restoration or overdenture to help you attain a full set of teeth.

  • Tooth Extractions

Although it’s our goal to restore your teeth, it’s not always possible. Sometimes the best thing for our patients is to extract a problematic tooth. You may need to have a tooth removal if:

    You’re in severe pain

    • The root is fractured from trauma
    • There’s severe decay or an abscess
    • You’re undergoing full mouth rehabilitation
    • There’s an impacted wisdom tooth
  • Gum Surgeries

Sometimes, surgery is needed on your gum tissues to facilitate other dental procedures or eliminate ongoing disease.

For instance, we may need to graft gum tissues or recontour the margins for aesthetics, sensitivity, tooth preservation, or future implant treatment. Since your gums are vital in protecting and stabilizing your teeth, they’re just as important as the bone underneath.

  • Adjunctive Oral Surgery

Procedures such as bone grafting, sinus lifts, and other oral surgeries are sometimes necessary for us to help our patients preserve their natural oral function. We invite you to meet with our dentist and periodontist to discuss how different strategies can help you to minimize tooth loss and quality of life changes.

  • Keeping You Comfortable During Oral Surgery

As with every service we provide, our Houston dentists are committed to ensuring your comfort and safety throughout your oral surgery procedure. Our safe in-house Houston sedation dentistry options allow you to relax and put your mind at ease. When you feel comfortable, we can work more efficiently to complete your care in less time, often performing multiple procedures in the same appointment.

The type of sedation used will depend on the treatment you need, your previous dental experiences, anxiety level, and medical history. Most of our patients prefer light analgesia with nitrous oxide (laughing gas) or an oral conscious sedation medication taken by mouth at the time of their appointment. We also offer a higher level of sedation known as IV sedation for more challenging procedures or patients who need extensive work done or have a high level of anxiety.
